OUT NOW!

We asked Impello  to share a bit more about the process behind Obscured Radiance — a two-track EP that dives deep into layered tension and late-night atmosphere.

From inspiration and structure to the emotional weight of the sound, here’s what we learned about the creative flow behind the release.

  • What does the title Obscured Radiance mean to you personally?
I do vision slightly or sometimes heavy distorted wave forms in techno and dark elements are coming to life, so also in this EP.  Radiance is whenever you are in spectrum, you cannot deny it and you will be sucked in the music. So ‘Obscured Radiance’ is the translation of the addiction of techno in any form.

  • Was there a moment during the production when the direction of the EP changed?
Haha, is there ever really a steady flow when making music? Probably not. There are plenty of times where a solid idea takes shape, but as I explore different versions, things shift. I often save the variations, and when I look back, some tracks end up sounding completely different from where they started.

  • Do these tracks reflect a shift in your current sound or direction as an artist?
A shift maybe yes, as the past  2 years I am more into 140 Bpm techno when i’m dj’ing, but as a producer not. I have various sides and this is one of them. The next EP will be different again.

  • Where do you imagine these tracks being played — or how do you see them fitting into a set?
This EP only have 2 tracks and they can be played at different settings. The biggest wish is on a festival when day turns into the night ‘Hypnotic String’ will guide you in the zone. Another option is in the beginning, during or at the end of a set. It will fit perfectly depending on the techno you are playing.

  • What kind of reaction do you hope these tracks trigger — on or off the dancefloor?
I hope the listeners will become one with the frequencies and sounds, so they can forget all the shit around them for a moment and enjoy the warmth of the kick, bassline and string. Music should be there so you don’t need anything else for a while. let the frequencies guide you to the next steps.

🖤 Thank You

Thanks for listening, sharing, following, and supporting the journey so far.
Obscured Radiance is out now — and this is just the beginning.
